Currently the OceanOptics controller is being rewritten. The current version doesn't work at the moment.

Support for OceanOptics QEPro MCA.

Installation

Requirements

• python-seabreeze

Linux

To use the device under linux, the rules found on the git repo (python-seabreeze/os_support/10-oceanoptics.rules) have to be installed.

• safer: review and install the rules in /etc/udev/rules.d/

or

• run the provided script: seabreeze_os_setup

Windows

Warning

Not tested.

Usage

The QE Pro provide three modes. A 4th mode was planned by OO but it seems never implemented (at least not at the time of writing this documentation).

• Free run: spectra are acquired continuously (internal timer).
• External Hardware Level Trigger Mode: same as free run for as long as the external gate is high.
• External Synchronous Mode: not available on the hardware?
• External Hardware Edge Trigger Mode: single timed acquisition is started by external trigger.
